| Geo Scan Inc. is a phase 1 scanning company. We specialize in sinkhole detection as well as detecting other sub surface anomalies. These services include, but are not limited to: sinkholes, voids, cavities, tunnels, shafts, graves, utilities, pipes, drainage, ore deposits and land fills…
Applications include archaeology, geophysics, geology, and hydrology. Surveyed areas include residential lots, commercial properties, industrial waste sites and waste deposits, building lots, mining areas, new construction sites, military practice site, buried metals, ship wreck remains, over water and other sub-surface investigations. Our Geo Physical Electromagnetic Surveyor is one of the most technologically advanced pieces of equipment available on the market today. It has the capability to show ground data in real time as it is scanned, to approx 92 feet or deeper depending on conditions.
Our Ground Penetrating Radar Unit has the capability to pick up most ground anomalies and sub surface disturbances up to approximately 150 feet or deeper depending on ground conditions and antenna used. Geo Scan’s consulting geologists have a combined total of 40 yrs in sinkhole study and research. Their ability to assess information on our scan data, puts them in the top of their field. Our company, as well as our clients, have the assurance that Geo Scan’s geologists will give 100% focus on each and every clients data to ensure satisfaction and compliance with regulatory offices. Geo Scan Inc and its consulting geologists are fully licensed and insured in the state of Florida.

Data Interpretation Overview For any given subject area, the acquired gravity data is compiled and a Bouguer correction applied. The data is plotted on profiles and a full color shaded relief map is produced.
An appropriate broad filter is selected, to approximate the regional gravity for the area. This is then subtracted from the Bouguer gravity to give Residual or Derivative Gravity Maps, These processes are handled by the GEMS software. These resulting maps will accentuate the anomalies that are caused by the geologic structure in the vicinity.
The Residual Gravity Map can be used with the density of the sediments to compute the causative structure. The structure can be portrayed on profiles and a map. Whilst interpreting the gravity profiles and maps; the interpreter will also frequently refer to bathymetry or elevation data, magnetic data, and any available geological information.
The precise interpretation of the gravity data allows for accurate determination of where sediments have been uplifted, and / or intruded; although the equipment can not discern what material comprises the structures.
Great care is taken to ensure the final results are a true representation of the actual data, with a policy of minimal filtering and grid smoothing. A close relationship with the onboard operators allows for a more realistic understanding of the acquired data; often negating the need for excessive filtering, which in turn allows for a greater quantity of the real data to be available for interpretation.
Geo Scan Inc uses GEMS software for visualization, mapping and for further processing and transforms. This powerful geophysical software suite; allows for a greater flexibility and an improved accuracy in the control and presentation of the data.
Geo Scan Inc. offers a full service for Gravity and Magnetic data; covering acquisition, processing and interpretation. By taking the responsibility for both data acquisition and data processing, the project management and contractual agreements are simplified, and a better service is provided. Editing, alongside a detailed overview of the whole survey.
